When preparing to move out of your bedroom, one of the most frequent questions we are asked is whether to leave the contents of the dresser inside of it or if you should pack them separately. There are multiple things to consider when answering this question.

First, remove all small, loose, or breakable items that are in the dresser. These can be a potential hazard especially if we are not made aware that they are in the dresser. It is best to leave only the regular contents of the dresser in the piece (minus all small, loose, or breakable items) and not add any additional clothing.

Second, how heavy is the dresser? If the weight of the dresser seems like a heavy item, then our recommendation would be to leave all clothing inside of the dresser because we will remove the drawers and they act as a natural box. The drawers can then be carried out separately and the base can be safely removed.

The last thing is to consider the number of stairs and sharp turns that will be required to move the dresser. If the building has an elevator or is relatively flat with few stairs then the clothing in the dresser may remain in the drawers (removing the small, loose, and breakable items still).

However, if there are a great number of stairs and sharp turns, we will discuss the best course of action with you at the site. In some cases, like this, it is better to remove the clothing and put it in boxes or removed the drawers if it will lead to a safer and less hazardous moving of the dresser.

As always, our number one priority is customer satisfaction and anything that we can do to help make the moving process easier for you, the customer, we are happy to discuss this in detail.
